PC Purchase Perks include an Arachknight Suit for Peter and a Shadow-Spider Suit for Miles (with 3 color variants each), a Web Grabber Gadget, and +3 Skill Points. With a PlayStation Network account connection, players can receive two additional suits, the Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit and the Miles Morales 2099 Suit. A PSN account is optional, though, and not required in order to play Spider-Man 2 on PC. Much of Spider-Man 2’s environment is filled with skyscrapers as Peter and Miles swing through Marvel’s New York City. PC enhancements to ray tracing improve reflections, interiors, shadows, and provide ambient occlusion options for an increased depth. According to a PlayStation Blog post, NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction brings “more detailed ray-traced reflections and better-defined ray-traced shadows” for visual improvements.

On your way to 100% district completion you will unlock all collectible trophies automatically. For players with high-performance PCs, High, Very High, and Ultimate Ray Tracing options are available to more finely tune their experience. With these settings, players can use higher-quality raytracing meshes and use the raytracing object range slider to make adjustments. Meanwhile, classic series nemesis Kraven brings mercenaries to the city to seek out previously-captured villains (like Scorpion and Vulture) as worthy prey for their boss, the world’s best hunter. Even while foiling Kraven’s plans, Peter and Miles try to help their former adversaries find redemption.

Shadow-spider Suit

On the map screen, look for the El Train tracks cut through the middle of the district from North to South. On the Eastern side of it is a (relatively) small building that’s on an angle compared to the buildings around it. Near where the train tracks stop (on the map screen, at least), look for a building under construction with a yellow crane over it.

As Peter and Miles attempt to stop Venom, Peter is debilitated by a trace amount of the symbiote still within him. After Miles settles his differences with Li, the latter uses his powers to convert Peter’s symbiote traces into the Anti-Venom symbiote, which can destroy other symbiotes. Concurrently, Venom recovers the meteorite that originally brought him to Earth and empowers himself with it, accelerating his infestation on New York.

All of this contributes to fighting back against crime in each district of New York, a city now twice the size of what we’ve seen before including the leafy residential roads of Queens and the bustling borough of Brooklyn. There are 14 unique districts, each with its own set of objectives to complete before you can unlock fast travel to that part of the map. Gliding is especially great for crossing long distances thanks to the numerous wind tunnels that carve their way through New York’s seemingly endless grid of streets flanked by art deco architecture and modern mirror-like skyscrapers. The main story took me around 18 hours to complete before I hit 100%, and the subsequent platinum trophy popped up to congratulate my efforts after 27 in total. Despite whatever loftier ambitions the story may have, this is still unapologetically an old-school approach to open-world game design, and nowhere is this displayed more clearly than in its optional quests. A new personal favourite gadget called the Web Grabber – which pulls enemies in from a distance and makes them smack into one another – also playfully builds into this philosophy.

Insomniac confirmed back in October 2024 that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be coming to PC on January 30, 2025. Peter also briefly appeared in Across the Spider-Verse in both versions of his Advanced Suit. Spider-Bots are the hardest Collectible to find in Spider-Man 2, because unlike the other Collectibles, they aren’t automatically marked on the map. These later stages are where the majority of Spider-Man 2’s thrills lay, however, as it really hits its stride late on, and emphatically wraps up a tale with miles of emotional depth that never once threatens to peter out. Speaking of boss battles, that’s one area that takes a noticeable step up from our initial tangos with Kingpin, Vulture, and the rest. One of my criticisms of the first in Insomniac’s series was how uninspired many of the showdowns felt, with their quicktime-heavy fights making a light impact. Improvements were made in Miles Morales, but here in the full-fledged sequel, boss battles really come to life. You’re made to wait a little too long for them sometimes, but when they do arrive they never fail to excite.

Both Peter and Miles retain their own unique way of swinging and flipping through the city, replete with a collectible wardrobe of suits that sent this reviewer to the game’s photo mode for hours. There are also smaller stories at play, though, ones that may seem less important when compared to city-wide chaos, but feel like potential world-enders to those who inhabit it. It’s the best-written story in the series yet (if still a bit cheesy at times), with performances worthy of the script. It’s a real triumph that it manages to cover such a wide spectrum of themes without suffering from tonal thwip-lash.

Marvel’s Spider-man 2

The Spider-Bot will be crawling near the top of the South-Eastern wall. The Spider-Ham Spider-Bot is found close to the Eastern corner of the Financial District. There, look for a tall concrete building with “Damage Control” on the top with red backlighting. The Gwen Stacey Spider-Bot is located in the South-West corner of the Downtown Queens district.

The Spider-Man 2 minimum specs almost completely mimic those of Horizon Forbidden West, which is no surprise given that both games are PS5 ports that use expansive open worlds with a high level of graphical fidelity. These settings will let you play Spider-Man 2 at 1440p which is the sweet spot between HD and 4K where everything looks really sharp but your computer doesn’t have to work too hard. Miles fights for his life in Kraven’s arena against his worst enemy, as Peter works to track down and free Miles himself. MJ, Harry, and Peter have a heated exchange as Peter fails to recollect the events of the previous evening, and Harry begins to spiral. On a dark rainy night, Kraven’s hunters trigger a brutal rampage from Peter and the Symbiote, so MJ and Miles must do everything they can to wake him up to his actions.

The suit selection in this game was picked by people who are fans of the ugliest spidermen costumes ever made. Finally, the MJ missions, Peoples politics aside “woke game vs not woke” her missions are ridiculously terrible. Insomniac has MJ taking out henchmen with a ridiculous amount of ease that are challenging for both spidermen.

A quick honorable mention to some of the character design choices. MJ looks like she aged 20 years and had botched buccal fat removal surgery. Miles gets a new suit that is the physical embodiment of “old white dudes try to write black teen.” There’s been a massive debate on why/if video games especially are intentionally designing characters poorly. Here, look for the park with the Russian church with golden domes on it. Here, go to the South-West corner and locate the tall silver apartment building. Climb up to the top of the building’s Northern face to find the Spider-Bot near the top. On the Western edge of this district is a long park that follows alongside the road. Spider-Bot can be found in the South-West area of the Upper East Side district. It’ll be on the side of a building right on the street that divides the Upper East Side from Central Park.

To their credit, the way you can highlight side objectives by pressing the right stick is a welcome upgrade over mere icons on a map. Even without that, you can spot ominous clouds or glowing purple rooftops with the bare eye signaling activities are there to be found. This isn’t a world that beckons exploration or discovery, necessarily, but it is a step in the right direction toward creating greater immersion and mercifully less time spent looking at the map screen.

Peter tracks the Lizard through the sewers of New York, fights the monstrous beast, and learns of the true nature of his new Black Suit. Peter and Miles pursue the Lizard as the hunters simultaneously attempt to capture their greatest prey yet. With the location of Curt Connors secured, MJ infiltrates the hunter base in an attempt to free him, as Harry and Peter desperately attempt to buy them time.
